Welcome to our mid-year newsletter. The first half of the year has been very uplifting to experience so much positive progression and self-development in our Academy and also in many others areas of life. Thankyou very much to all of the Integrated Academy members, families and friends who have continued so strongly to support and encourage us all forward on this great journey of inner strength and courage.

The following list of goals is an example of our student’s strong determination and dedication to their training that has been expressed throughout this recent time:
* The first goal achieved was the Green Belt Grading which was held at the Burrum Heads community hall on the 17th of April.
Well done to the following 4 students who all completed their requirements to earn their next platform of Martial Arts ability;

Rebecca Bray, Jayce McNeill, Keaton McNeill and Jake Colvin

Congratulations for reminding us all that focused preparation always encourages focused results.

* On Thursday night the 22nd of May our Academy was visited by Mr. Sid Moore who had created for us a special gift of a Bushido Calligraphy Board. Sid has been a good friend for a long time now and he has always been very supportive of the strong virtues and values that are focused on in the Integrated Academy. The presentation also included Sid speaking to us on the topic of
“The Bushido Spirit” and also “The Way Of The Peaceful Warrior”. In tribute to Sid’s generosity we all expressed our
appreciation by joining together in the Japanese language with “Domo Arigato Gazarimas Sid San!” :)

After the ceremony was complete we then commenced the Brown Belt Grading in which the students involved all shone strongly with the energy of Bushido (determination, perseverance, inner strength and courage).Well done to the following students who
all did so well to achieve such an advanced level on their journey;

Jared Woodgate, Sarah Woodgate, Tahnee MacKenzie and Kevin Walsh

The most recent event that was attended by 3 students of the Integrated Development Academy was the Annual Training Camp held in Tannum Sands on the 7th & 8th of June. Well done to Bryce Monkivitch, Josh Russell and Kris Tassotti who attended the camp this year. And thankyou to the Gladstone Martial Arts Academy for welcoming us to participate in their well organised event.

There are some more great goals to look forward to that are scheduled within this next block of upcoming time;

* A Blue Belt Grading will take place at the Burrum Heads Hall on the 26th of June.

* The Walk Of Inspiration is a great event that will involve us all striding forward together along the coastline from Toogoom to Dundowran Beach. This year it is on the 13th of July and as was done last year we will be helping to raise important awareness and funds for Environmental Conservation. I will put together an info sheet about this in the next few weeks.

* A Brown Belt Grading will take place at the Burrum Heads Hall on the 17th of July.
